coffee crazy
we have gone a bit coffee crazy lately. of course that is because we miss our favourite cantine coffee… . trying to fill this void in despair, we changed our coffee making process into a creative and fun project.
yes, we do appreciate a fine heart shape in our coffees, but decided to spice it up a little, following the 3d latte art trend that arrived from japan some time ago. people initiated this, thinking outside the box, or in this case, outside the coffee cup. it turned into a real form of art, sculptures were built from just milk foam.
turns out, totally by surprise, that cantine has just announced a challenge inspired by this milk art! and as if the making of isn’t already fun enough, you can now win one of their coffee cups (by kaffeeform, a cup made from coffee beans).
enter on instagram by sharing your art on your story. don’t forget to tag @eatatcantine. they’ll pick a winner at the end of next week.
here are some instructions you could follow:
set your cappuccino/latte like you always do, with slightly foamed milk.
make a second, separate batch of frothed milk, but make this one extra foamy!
spoon the stiff foam on top of your coffee of choice. now form it into the desired shape by scooping some more and playing it around - they went for a kitty but it’s up to you! -now use the back of a spoon or a paint brush to paint the darker areas onto the foam with espresso. or go crazy with some food dye and/or chocolate.
tip: if your foam doesn’t stay in shape it means it is not stiff enough and you should froth it more.
have fun making it! we hope that the coffee kicks in afterwards, just when you needed it.
